Located in Vestfold county in Norway, the town and port of Larvik is roughly 105 km to the south west of Oslo. Tracing its history back to 1671, the town was founded by Ulrik Fredrik Gyldenlove, who was the first Count of Laurvig. Larvik is home to the Treschow estate, which is currently owned by Mille-Marie Treschow "Norway's richest woman". The Treschow estate was created in the 1820s when the last Count of Laurvig was declared bankrupt.
