The port of Uig lies on the west coast of the Trotternish peninsula on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. Uig is both an ideal gateway and base to explore the beautiful Isle of Skye, with frequent crossings to and from Lochmaddy and Tarbert every day. The Uig ferry terminal is situated at the northern end of the A87 in the village of Idrigil, so it’s within easy reach from most towns on Skye and the northern mainland. There is also a bus stop located outside the terminal building next to the ticket office. The terminal itself has a large, seated waiting room, a public telephone and toilet facilities, ensuring your journey is as comfortable as possible from the start. This particular area of Skye is renowned for its magnificent rock formations and captivating historical landmarks, so be sure to see as many as you can during your visit.

As the administrative centre and main port of North Uist in Scotland, Lochmaddy provides frequent daily crossings to the Isle of Skye. The port is easily reachable from most villages in North Uist, as it sits just off the circular A865 road on the east coast. Free parking is available outside the terminal building, alongside a bus stop which provides frequent services to the surrounding villages. Whilst you wait for your ferry to leave, you can relax inside the terminal’s spacious waiting area or stroll to the local shop and admire the stunning scenery along the way.
