There are copious mountains and hills which are ideal for embarking on a hike in the early hours of the morning, especially considering the stunning scenery engulfing the island. Due to the relatively few visitors, Mikurajima has remained largely untouched by tourism, making it one of the cleaner and quieter islands belonging to Japan. The island is easily covered by foot, and all the accommodation will be within comfortable walking distance of the ferry terminal.
