Sealink Kangaroo Island
Sealink connects Southern Australia and Kangaroo Island with their vehicle and passenger ferry service operating daily (apart from Christmas Day) between Cape Jervis, south of Adelaide and Penneshaw on the east side of Kangaroo Island.
With up to twelve crossings a day each way and two modern ferries, Sealion 2000 and Spirit of Kangaroo Island, Sealink take you across Backstairs Passage in just forty five minutes. Onboard you grab a hot drink or a snack from the fully licensed café, take in the beautiful sea views, or make use of the free wifi.
As a destination, Kangaroo Island features as an Australian ‘must see’ and is the country’s third-largest island. Take the ferry and explore at your own pace in the comfort and convenience of your own vehicle or alternatively the Sealink guides can inform you about one of the many tours they host.
The company itself was established in 1989 when it purchased the ferry operations of Philanderer Ferries that had been connecting the Australian mainland and Kangaroo Island since the seventies. With new purpose built state of the art ferries, Sealink transformed the crossing into a faster, more comfortable and more reliable journey.
