Paldiski Ferry Port

Paldiski is a former Swedish settlement known as Ragervik, situated just south west of Tallinn, Estonia. The only ferry route departing the port is to Kapellskar in Sweden, supplied by DFDS Seaways and lasting for around ten and a half hours.

What is there to do in Paldiski?

Glorious greenery, spectacular views and fresh sea air; Paldiski has undergone a huge transformation from the military infrastructure placed by the Soviet Union. The landscape is still dominated in parts by its Russian history, yet it creates a unique and fascinating insight into the history of the town. Part of the reason to visit lies in the unique environment - the peninsula which hosts the port is one of Estonia’s best spots for enviable photos. The Swedish element is still evident around the town, creating a vibe and feel that is unlike any other town in the world, add that to the array of interesting landmarks, it’s easy to see why Paldiski is growing in popularity. Peter’s Fortress is possibly the standout attraction; the deep moats and strange architecture make it a must see whilst in the area. To add to the history and culture, there are many churches dotted around, and the ruins of the Soviet Union era are still very impressive.

How do visitors get around Paldiski?

The town is so small that it is possible to cover the entirety of it by foot, though there are taxis available for quick and convenient transport.
