The Norwegian town and port of Langesund is one of Norway's most popular destinations during the summer months. Dating back to 1765, the town has a long tradition as a port for lumber, shipbuilding and ice and is set in a beautiful location on a fjord that shares its name. Visitors taking a stroll through the town will see plenty of examples of well-preserved and restored buildings that date back to the 18th century. Langesund's popularity as a summer destination stems from the large number of sunny days it has each year. Popular attractions in the town include the Wrightegaarden which hosts many outdoor concerts during the summer, usually at the weekend.
