Langdale Ferry Port

Langdale BC is used as a gateway for passengers travelling from Vancouver to the Sunshine Coast on the south east coast of Canada. The ferries cross between Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver to Langdale on the Sechelt Peninsula; the departures run frequently throughout the day and typically last around an hour.

According to many passengers, the crossing from Vancouver to Langdale is worth the trip alone. The stunning views of the lower sunshine coast provide the on board entertainment, and the staff are famously incredibly organised and efficient. Deck seven is regarded as the ideal spot on a sunny day; there are endless photo opportunities and the warm breeze is the perfect touch for an extremely pleasant experience.

The only significant industry operating in Langdale is the ferry terminal. The revenue generated from the port has become pivotal for the island, boosting the economy and obviously providing jobs for the local residents. Away from Langdale, up and down the Sunshine Coast, tourists will find ample opportunities to explore natural landscapes and embrace Canada’s incredible east coast shoreline. The Skookumchuk Narrows Provincial Park is a particular highlight, offering some of the most spectacular currents in North America. The entire coast offers picturesque views, perfect for those who enjoy taking life at a slower pace.

Hiring a rental car is generally considered the best way to get around, with long stretches of road covering much of the shoreline. For those not keen on driving, there is also a bus service operating around Langdale, which picks up and drops passengers off at the ferry terminal.
