Norway is the westernmost of the three Scandinavian countries, encompassing the island of Jan Mayen and the Svalbard archipelago to the northwest. Best known for its deep and complex network of fjords along the west coast stretching from the North Sea into the Arctic Ocean, Norway is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful countries in the world. The capital, Oslo is a city of grand museums and art galleries to rival anywhere on the continent. As well as the innovative architecture, you’ll find upmarket restaurants and trendy cafes where you can relax after a long day of exploring Norway’s many landscapes. In Scandinavia, travelling by ferry is a popular mode of transport given the quantity of islands. Norway has a large number of ports on its southern coast, offering numerous routes to both international and domestic destinations.

About Holland

The country with more bicycles than people and officially known as the Netherlands, Holland is bordered by Germany, Belgium and the North Sea. Holland is one of the most densely populated countries with some sixteen million inhabitants spread over sixteen thousand square miles. With its famous cities, picturesque villages, tulips and windmills, Holland attracts many tourists. The rivers and canals covering the country also mean that the beach is never too far away either. Holland is well connected to the UK by ferry with crossings connecting the country with ports in the south east, east and north east of England. Ferry crossings from Holland to England are frequent, year round and operated by large ferries with cruise like facilities. Though the crossings are generally longer and more expensive than those connecting France with England, if you are in Holland or further east and have a final destination in the east of England, or anywhere north of London, travelling from Holland is likely to offer the most direct route.
