About Graham Island

Graham Island is the largest landmass in the Haida Gwaii archipelago on the west coast of Canada, found within the province of British Columbia. The crowning jewel of Haida Gwaii, formerly known as the Queen Charlotte Islands, Graham Island is the most populous, offering the easiest accessibility by ferry from the British Columbian coast, thanks to its low-lying eastern shoreline. Truly awesome landscapes await visitors making the eighty-kilometre journey from the mainland: ancient rainforests with the world’s oldest cedar trees, sparkling lakes and marine protected areas roamed by orcas and sea otters. It also has plenty of brilliant hiking routes taking you past magnificent totem poles, carved by the indigenous Haida population, along the way. Ferries frequently link the British Columbian mainland with Graham Island, with routes from the small town of Prince Rupert to the ferry terminal in Skidegate on the southeast coast of Graham.
