Calapan Port is located on the north west coast on the island of Mindoro, one of the Philippines’ smaller islands that lays to the west of the archipelago. The city is known for its vibrant local festivities and glamourous celebrations that bring colour and life to the area. The seaport is the busiest and largest on Mindoro Island, with crossings to Batangas City International Seaport just taking 90 minutes. Batangas Port, also known as the Batangas Pier, lies in the south west coast of the Philippines, primarily serving the Calabarzon region. Known as the alternate port of Manila, Batangas Port is only a two hour drive from the capital, with bus services running frequently and many taxis available for the journey. The city is famous for the Taal Volcano and Taal Heritage Town, which attract many visitors a year. With several crossings a day, Batangas Port is primarily used for travellers to access the popular tourist destination of Puerto Galera. The sailing takes roughly 90 minutes and arrives at the Muelle Pier. Despite its location in a friendly, bustling city, Batangas Port can be troublesome; foreign visitors are advised to be extra careful when buying tickets and make sure all purchases are made through official services.
