Batangas Port, also known as the Batangas Pier, lies in the south west coast of the Philippines, primarily serving the Calabarzon region. Known as the alternate port of Manila, Batangas Port is only a two hour drive from the capital, with bus services running frequently and many taxis available for the journey. The city is famous for the Taal Volcano and Taal Heritage Town, which attract many visitors a year. With several crossings a day, Batangas Port is primarily used for travellers to access the popular tourist destination of Puerto Galera. The sailing takes roughly 90 minutes and arrives at the Muelle Pier. Despite its location in a friendly, bustling city, Batangas Port can be troublesome; foreign visitors are advised to be extra careful when buying tickets and make sure all purchases are made through official services.
Caticlan Port serves the general area of the municipality of Malay, located in the province of Aklan in the Philippines. The port is situated on the north west coast of the island and is used to connect passengers across the Sibuyan Sea to Boracay Island. Jetty Port provide Bangka pump boats throughout the day that run from Caticlan Port to Boracay Island, beginning in the early morning and terminating in the late evening. The crossing is usually a smooth sailing and only lasts around ten minutes; there are porters on hand to assist any passengers with heavy luggage. Caticlan Port is found next to Caticlan Airport, there are motorized tricycle rides used for transport from the airport terminals to the port.
