Situated on the south eastern part of Greece, Lavrio has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years, largely due to the renovation of the port. There are many ferry routes operating from Lavrio – the vast majority crossing to other Greek Islands. Visitors don’t tend to stay in Lavrio for too long due to the lack of attractions or entertainment in the area, though whilst there it is well worth visiting the largest and oldest amphitheatre in Greece or stopping for a drink in one of the many welcoming cafes.
