Mljet is a Croatian island and is the most southerly and easterly of the Adriatic islands of the Dalmatia region. For visitors sailing the Croatian part of the Adriatic Sea, from south to north, Mljet will be the first large island they will encounter. The island's terrain is full of Mediterranean vegetation and is Croatia's greenest island, that also has lovely crystal clear waters and sandy beaches. The sea around the island is rich in fish and marine life and the island is also well known for it's two salt water lakes - Veliko and Malo Jezero that are located in the north of the island. The island is also known for its red and white wine, olives and goats cheese.
